Latest update

With judging next Tuesday 1st July GIB will be meeting on Monday 30th June at the Roseway planters opposite the Heritage Centre at 4pm for a final litter pick and tidy up round the town. Anyone able to help is very welcome – just bring a pair of gloves, bin bag and a picker if you have one.

All residents can help by keeping an eye on their neighbourhood to check it is clean tidy and free of litter as the judges will pick up on any unkempt areas and knock the score down.

Here’s to good weather and a result reflecting the hard work that has gone in this year by everyone concerned and sincere thanks to all those who have helped along the way.

Gainsborough in Bloom 2025

JUDGING DATE CONFIRMED

GIB has heard from East Midlands In Bloom the RHS judges will be visiting the town on Tuesday 1st July from 10am.
The tour will take about 4 hours and everyone can help by making sure their local areas are clean and free of litter whether business or residential.
We are looking to improve on our silver award for the last two years to silver gilt and with the Invest Gainsborough work which has gone on round the town and our own efforts we are hopeful this can be achieved.

Additional entries this year will be Marshalls Yard in the best Retail Park competition and Hickman Hill in the best pub/hotel garden competition. These could end up in the National entry if the judges put them forward and Marshalls Yard were only a couple of points off a gold award last year.

We will be planting the summer bedding in the 17 planters round the town in the next few weeks and anyone wishing to help this Saturday 17th May to remove the wallflowers in readiness for this should meet us at Roseway at 1pm. Tools will be provided but please bring a pair of gardening gloves.
Please also check out our Facebook page for dates of events we are arranging over the coming weeks as any help is much appreciated.

We want to hear from you if:

You are already looking after a public space and maintaining an area, this could be green space, flower display, public street or pocket park.
